Strut Replacement.

Dear Scotty,

I have a 2010 Toyota Highlander and have been watching your videos.

Today I finished a project of replacing my struts, I saw your videos about the Amazon Struts, but having a AWD and being off road half the time I wanted the higher stiffer suspension.

Do you think I did okay since the only option my local mechanics gave me were Monroe Struts.

Also I did it myself because they quoted me 200.00 per strut (800.00 for all four) for installation labor. I looked it up and any shop should only take an hour. That's 200.00 bucks an hour. I'm disabled and could only do one per day but only took me 3 hours per and I found the shop doing all my tire and other maitance never told me my rear brake pads were super thin. Paper thin when I got in, so added new pads while doing this.

Thanks for all the videos with those and YouTube linking videos I was able to do the struts all by myself and saved a bundle. Just hope these struts hold up long enough to make it past this parts shortage so I can get the ones you suggest for Toyotas.

Thanks,

Ronnie Nelson

I'm unclear about your question. Are you asking if Monroe struts were a good choice?

Was asking if I did good with the Amazon

Sorry I'm not familiar with the video. So you installed struts that you purchased from Amazon, and want to know what we think of them?

What brand are they?

Or do you have a link to them?

I skipped Monroe, Scott said they were a poor match on Toyotas on a video. Was asking if I did good with the Amazon since all Scotty complained about was a stiff ride and being about an inch higher since both of those are a plus to me on a 4wd vehicle of any type.
