Hi. I'm thinking about buying a 2011 Toyota Matrix AWD with 172,000 miles on the clock.
Engine, transmission and AWD looks good.
Would it be a good idea to service the transmission and change front and rear differential fluids?
Thanks.

See the FAQ for information on changing automatic transmission fluid. There would be no problem with changing the gear oil in the differentials.

Try to check the dipstick to see the color of the transmission, if it is brown or reddish, then the transmission probably was changed(if black or darker, the fluid is old or never change) I am not a professional like these guys over here, but I will do what I can from what I know 👍. Also yes, check the faq. You will find the majority of the answer there.
