How long can an engine last that has turn off and the turn back on at every stop light. Seams a little silly to me. I would think that's hard on an engine {black}:idontknow:

It depends on how you drive the car. Stopping and starting in city traffic wastes engine life because you're shutting the engine off constantly. If you constantly drive on the highway, it will last around the same time a regular engine would.
The only “start-stop” I trust to last long is Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive. Not their mild hybrid. Not their Hybrid Max. The bonafude HSD is relatively resilient.
If you want your vehicles to have a long life with a minimum of problems never buy one that has the automatic stop-start misfeature unless it can be easily disabled from the car's own controls. (You don't want to be using some sketchy 3rd party device that may damage your electrical system.)
