[Solved] Honda lug locks

Hi, I have a newer '09 Honda now, long story. It is garage kept, and has 100,000 miles less than my old, wrecked one. My only problem now is its in front of the house with a flat tire, BUT it has a special locking lug nut with a Honda key way to get in! I cant find the tool for it, any suggestions before I have to call a Dealership?

Did you look to see if the factory tool is in the glovebox or with the spare tire?

It appears that if you don't have the original tool or its code number you need a mechanic to take the stupid thing off:

Thank you, no I didn't look for it, I just got it, and Im panicking like some Fool.

If you find the key and the code number is with it I'd keep that code somewhere in case you need to buy another key at some point. If you cannot find the key or code have a professional remove the lock and replace it either with a normal lug nut or an aftermarket lock. Same with the other wheels so you'll be able to take them off if needed.

jeeeeze, it was in the glove box. in it's original zipper pouch. omg

Like I said, be sure to save the key code somewhere safe in case the thing is misplaced at some point.

i would almost bet the local tire place will have something that will work

Im so happy to find it!! It still has a silica packet in the little bag, to keep it fresh. So now I have an '09 Honda, loaded, that is zippier. I cant believe I came on this forum to get that advice, Im such a Bonehead.

I don't come on here much, cuz I never had issues with my Honda. Thanks for still being here for me. My old Honda made in Canada is history, now I own one made in America... VIN says Honda of America with a California address,,, Torrance Ca. thanks for answering even DUMB questions, I'm sure I will have better questions soon. I might even take a trip to TN in the Fall.
