Hey Scotty,
I have a 2016 Honda Oddyssey with just over 40k miles. Now that my car is out of the 5 year warranty period, is it possible to have a mechanic reprogram the the computer to disable the VCM system?
Also, will GF6 engine oil help with extending the life of the engine.
Thanks
I would disable it.
You can use the GF6 oil but you do not have to. The main thing is to change the oil and filter frequently and use the correct oil viscocity.
It it were my vehicle, I would disable the VCM. There is a software you can use to disable it called KTuner: IMO it’s a better option than the Muzzler device. I’ve never used it but we had a member with good success with it, and Scotty has heard of others using it, too. Your mechanic may or may not have this software.

See below for which one to get: check with the company first to see if your vehicle is supported.
