Hose disconnected on my exhaust.

I have a 1997 Toyota camry and my car has been running loud for sometime now.  Today it seemed like it was running louder than usual so I decided to take a look underneath and it looks like the hose that exhaust fumes from the engine, and through my muffler has separated.   Like a 4in gap between the two pieces.   Now some questions are, will this hurt my engine and can I take it to a regular repair shop or do I have to take to to the muffler shop, for better service on it.  Except for it being really loud, I am seeing no real issues with my engine right now.  Also it's the corregated rubber hose that is by my front wheel and none of the metal pipe for my exhaust system.   Thank you.

Exhaust systems don't use rubber hoses.

@chucktobias well thats what it looked like, 2 feet away, on my back in a parking lot, looking at it with a cell phone flashlight. With your diagram, it looked most like the TWC.

I would take it to a good independent muffler shop to have it checked out.
