No.

But why do you need an idling engine for eating lunch?

SHUT IT OFF

Newer cars wont overheat when you idle as they have powerful electric fans that pull a lot of air through the radiator. But you are wasting a ton of gas just sitting there for no reason and keep in mind that your oil is still being put to work even though the odometer isn't moving since your stationary. That means that an oil change will be long overdue by the time your mileage interval finishes. So, its not a good idea to sit there idle for 45 min. A good rule of thumb is if you have to sit still somewhere for more than minute, go ahead and shut your car off.

A really good addition to new cars would be an hour meter like they use on generators and other machinery to gauge the timing of maintenance operations.

my 2013 GMC has one. Oil change interval works out to around 200h

That is way cool!. Did it come with or did you install it? I'll bet auto manufacturers DO NOT have it on their cars on purpose.

It's a factory cluster function. Maybe due to it being a commercial vehicle.
