Hi, there!
I have a 2005 Scion xA (with nearly 120,000 miles) and I want to replace its transmission fluid (non-Toyota) with Toyota-brand fluid; it was changed about 30,000 miles ago. I plan on dropping the transmission pan and changing the fluid and filter, but I was wondering how much residual fluid won't drain, i.e., from the torque converter. I'm worried about the mix of new and old transmission fluid causing potential problems.
Thanks in advance for your reply!

Don't worry about it.

Do a drain and fill, drive it for a few weeks and then drop the pan and change the filter and refill. You'll be fine as long as you keep up with the trans fluid from here on out.
