Hi Scotty,
Domb question here, How often do we have to change Strut and shocks on our vehicle?
I am a daily driver put in about 135 miles a day. Same question goes for Brake pads and rotors.
When the car starts bouncing on bumps or if the oil Is leaking on the struts as it will not function properly without a specific amount of oil.
Depends on car and shock/strut and driving habits. Same applies to brakes and rotors. So smooth hwy miles and all components will last longer re: any car. The key is periodic inspection of wear components to determine how much life is left in them and replace as appropriate.

I have a 2018 Toyota RAV4 xle, had new Bilstein Sturt in the front put in and KYB shocks in the back, about a year ago same with the brake pads and rotors, I do a combined drive hwy and NYC beat up roads. , Car feels very unstable ride in the hwy. Driver side vibrates alot at high speed and also as I apply the brake.
Thanks for getting back on this. You have issues other than shocks, struts and brake parts. I'd take it in to a dealer and request warranty repair as it sounds like you have drivetrain/suspension issues more serious than shocks/brakes (cv, ball joint, wheel bearing etc). Did you notice this happening over time? And was it these ride issues that motivated you to replace those components a year ago? (they factory shocks on a 2018 RAV4 should still be fine even today) Got a feeling you took it to the dealer and they said you needed those (non-warranty covered) parts....
@hillbilly
Yes, and I guess I will do that. Thanks for all your help.
When you drive the same car a long period of time you get a feel for it. When you feel it's getting wonky, then you must start investigating.
