How to break in a new engine?

I have a 2002 Mustang GT 5 speed that had damage to the engine, (details are not relevant to the question, if you want to know just ask) and I had to get a new engine. It's the same 4.6 2v. I know that I shouldn't Rev too high, but also that I shouldn't be constant with what speed I'm in. I don't know if that is all. If there are any tips or tricks that I should know, I'm all ears. Thanks

Did you get it at the junkyard? Those engines are already broken in. Unless you got a remanufactured engine from Ford, odds are, it's already been broken in. They stopped making 4.6L V8s at least 13 years ago.

Ya its a remanufactured one from Autozone. It that good?

Not really. You have a limited warranty I guess. Just do brisk and light accelerations. You want to get a nice range of RPMs without going to the redline.

Drive it!

But seriously, just drive it normally for the first thousand miles, if it’s indeed a brand new/newly rebuilt engine.
