Hi Scotty, I’ve been watching a lot of your videos in the past years, and you may have posted a answer to this question that I did not see yet, and if it is, please send me a link of that video and I appreciate your time, I have a 2014 Toyota sienna that I purchase with 141,000 miles I was the second owner and the first owner was the dealership of Toyota in Coolsprings, Tennessee, it currently has 172,500 miles and according to records the van was regularly serviced at the dealership according to the specs and recommendations. Toyota has, I seen a video where a fella took out the drain plug of the transmission pan and said there is a plastic straw inside the pan that contains the proper level of fluid, if that part is missing what is the proper way of checking the level of transmission fluid?
The easy way is to drain and measure the ATF you remove, and replace the same amount.
If the tube inside the trans case that allows you to set the proper ATF level is missing, perhaps you could replace it? Where did it go?
if that part is missing what is the proper way of checking the level of transmission fluid?
replace the tube
The checking procedure should be at the end here:
