Hey Scotty and to all! I’m currently saving up $5000 to find a good used small Tacoma(before 2005) as my first car and I need advice or things I should keep in mind when shopping for one. My friends say it will be impossible and I’m aware of that but I really would like the tacoma might as well since I’m getting a used car and I feel I can find one if I can get advice, patience, and some luck. Anything is possible
With $5000, I’d start looking for mechanically good Tacomas with their paint/body panels bashed up.
Use the damaged paint/bodywork as a bargaining tool & use your best bargaining skills to drive the price down, to your satisfaction. Then, after you save up enough $$$, fix the panels as best you can or get the entire truck resprayed.
As with any used car, have it thoroughly inspected by a reputed mechanic, before you buy it.
Stay away from rusted frames.
