[Solved] How to prevent rats from getting in your car?

Hi,

I live in Chicago, and my building offers parking in the back alley. I would love to pay a little extra for a parking space ($100/month) but my neighbors tell me that rats have climbed into their cars and have chewed through wires. Is there a way to prevent critters from getting into cars or should I keep my car parked on the street away from the alleys?

fyi, I have a 2020 Acura RDX with 7500 miles.

Any other ways? After looking into this solution further, it seems these devices do not typically appear to work.

Don’t worry. Just rats.
In my area we have tons of bears.

sometime bears borrow side mirrors and never return them.

those jerks 😆

I prevent rats with a 10 mm Smith & Wesson semi automatic.

Last time I checked, rats couldn't fly, but they could fall on your car. Watch where you park, first. You can buy sticky pads and place them around your tires so they can't climb inside your car. And park under a light source.

they jump pretty far. From the ground to the engine no problem for them
