[Solved] Hyundai Elantra 2017 GLS 2.0L Engine Sounds Louder than Before

Hello, about two weeks ago I cleaned my engine bay and I was sure to both cover any electrical parts and I took out the battery. For context, I got the car back in November 2019 from a Hyundai Dealership with 3 owners and a clean title and the odo read around 68,700 miles (transmission type: Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT)). The car has eco and sport mode as well. The engine bay was dirty and I wanted to work on a project so I did exactly that. Furthermore, I cleaned out the pebbles and leaves that I found underneath the compartment for my engine air filter with a vacuum. Almost 2 weeks have gone by and even whilst on eco mode, the engine sounds louder than before and my car accelerates faster. I haven't noticed a change in gas mileage, however, eco mode feels as if I am driving in standard mode. Is the change in sound due to me clearing out the leaves from the space under the engine air filter and cleaning the engine bay, or did I possibly damage my vehicle? I wanted to double check as my vehicle's engine sounds a bit louder than when I first replaced the engine and cabin air filters. Thank you in advance!

Well if you clean everything out and put a clean filter in engine will make slightly more noise because all that crud was buffering some of the sound away , and just do make noises and the more open they are to the air the more you hear the noises

Thank you so much for confirming, Scotty!
