I got toyota Avalon xls from auction and me  having no experience got a the bad peace. Car was for 3300 and have already spent 5000 in total which includes. Brake pads. Oil change router and caliper. Now my mechanic says i need fo change the engine car has 101567 miles ans precious owner never changed thw oil. Do you think should i change the engine or sell it for cheap?

1. Please do not use your email address as your display name. It attracts spammers and scammers. No one from this site will contact you. You can change this by selecting "My Profile" and then "Account" at the top of the page.

2. There is a place for a short descriptive title and a place for your question. We will fix it here, but please take note for future reference.

3. You posted this 3 times. Please note that the site can be slow to respond and do not repeatedly press the red button.

Thank you, and enjoy!

It's already turned into a money pit. I would take this as a learning experience and get rid of it before it totally eats you out of house and home.

Just curious, Chuck Tobias.
Could that motor or any motor run for 100k miles without changing the oil?

I doubt it. Maybe this one did have one or two oil changes along the way to get that far.

I agree with Chuck Tobias.
If the previous owner(s) neglected changing the engine oil, it is likely that they neglected servicing the transmission fluid, radiator fluid, etc.
