Electrical connector will not click in

Hi, I have a P0741 code in my 2006 Corolla. I have changed the transmission fluid, but the code is still coming back. The car is running well so I'm not worried. However, I did try another fix. I saw a video and decided to clean an electrical connector with electrical cleaner. The two connectors I cleaned are at 3:30 on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTRCFX7qdmM&t=7s. So the problem came when I connected them back. If you see the video, the connector on the left clicked in. The connector on the right would not click and I'm worried that this will negatively affect the electrical signal. (I realized I did not use dielectric grease so I am going back in the next few days to put that on there.)

Anyway, I know the dielectric grease helps with the conduction of the signal, but do I have to absolutely have that connector click. I was pushing down hard and got worried I was going to break it. Please give me your thoughts. Also, when I disconnected it, I am certain nothing snapped off.

Thank you,

Chris

No, it is an insulator.

it does help with conduction by sealing out moisture, oxidation and other contamination

So, would it be best to use dielectric grease when reconnecting all electrical connectors?

After you tight the connectors, use dielectric grease.

After you tight the connectors, use dielectric grease.

No. I put it INSIDE the connectors before I snap them together. It also helps to reduce the friction and lubricate the seals.
