Hi Scotty I have a 2007 mercury grand marquis with 71k original miles and I’m having this issue while reversing. When I start the car up first thing in the morning or during the cold winter when I reverse it. It’s a clunking and a shuddering sound but only does it when the car isn’t warmed up. Once the car is warmed up I never have any sounds coming from it.

Well find where the clock is coming from. See my video finding the source of car noises. Scotty. Now I would put a sensor on the transmission and another one on the differential in the rear end and see if it's one of those that's making the noise. Also check to see if the u-joints on the drive shafts are clunky
