Initially I had a truck. But me never having a sports car I wanted one but only could afford a V6 version... I have a 2017 Dodge Charger SE with sports appearance. The car has the 3.6L pentastar and 8spd auto w shift. It has 73000 miles on it and is worth approximately  17k. With that I'd like to find a truck preferably a crew cab full size but saw ur video one top 5 trucks so I'm open to those. I want to know what you think good trucks or SUVs to get. I don't mind older years down to say 08. Any recommendations on SUVs and Trucks. I was looking at explorers but my mechanic buddy says they're great when they're running right but a pain/expensive to work on. Also how is the dodge 4.7l motor. Thanks.

Also.. how many miles is too many. Always thought that anything near or above 200k was bad. I see alot of used Trucks above 200k miles and they still want an arm and a leg. Thoughts.

Can you give us more constraints? (Budget, features, reliability a priority?, going to tow or not? are you looking to keep for as long as possible?)

Hello KnoxvilleTenn, just like you I am also in the market for a new truck. Although, I already have one! I just want a newer (currently have a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 2WD with 330,00 miles). I would personally recommend a Toyota truck. Depending on what you are looking for, you pretty much got either the Tacoma or the Tundra. Tacomas are the most popular mid-size pickup truck in America, this is the truck I will be buying. I do not need a full size truck, but really just want a truck that can do most truck things. The Tacoma is that truck.

Now if you want something a little beefier or something with more power, then the Tundra would fit best in that category. If you have watched much of Scotty, you'll know he loves the Toyotas! I'll link a few videos from The Car Wizard, I thought he had some good info on the topic.

From personal experience, I work at a tire shop. Most Tacomas & Tundras that come have fairly high mileages and run like a clock. Many new Dodges or Fords come in a lot too that work great, but of course they do, they're new! If you want a lost-lasting & reliable truck (assuming you take care of it), go with a Toyota truck.

That's my two cents, good luck!

I don’t know your constraints, but if reliability is a priority and you are going to keep the vehicle for as long as possible I would stick to Toyota Tacoma and Tundra for trucks, and for SUVs (in no particular order) Toyota 4Runner, Sequoia, Land Cruiser, Highlander, RAV4, and Honda Pilot, CR-V.
