Good evening! 2012 Ford Fusion back at it again, 140,000 miles. I got the code P2096 “Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean Bank 1.” Took it to mechanic and they said the car is okay, the catalytic converter is okay and nothings wrong. It’s a ghost code? Ok here’s the kicker, It’s a flex fuel car. I put e85 full take for a few weeks, code went away, I put 87 normal gas in today and its flipping back on again. What is going on? I have new spark plugs 20 thousand miles ago, car isn’t idling bad.

Whats going on? My car is running very good. I checked everything. Second photo is the fuel being taken away in the first photo. My mechanics are very trust worthy and I known them for 7 years, they’re stumped on this one. I change my oil every 2 thousand miles, clean air filter. I did all of the little check ups, is this just a ghost code? The mechanics are stumped!

How can your spark plugs be new with 20,000 miles on them?  Why not go for a set of new plugs?
