I currently have a 1.9tdi 07 golf MK5 with 180,000 miles. I got it on the cheap and it runs well but came with no service history and the MOT history is concerning. I want something now that will last and I could sell my golf now while it's running well for ok money. I have seen a Lexus GS 450h with 40k miles and a new hybrid battery that has been driven by an older gentleman with a full Lexus device history. Would it be a worthy investment that will last me or should I consider another car?

If the battery was really changed, go for it! Here in Bulgaria we have many GS models from this generation that are pushing well over 500k km!
