Corolla, … unless you are in a snow belt area.

F.S.

Corolla 2017+ Manuel Transmission is your best bet. If you really need AWD and decide to get the Impreza, get one pre-2017 bc with the new generation came a lot of reliability problems.

Get a Corolla, more reliable, higher MPG, less cost for maintenance (parts and labor).

Don't take any Subaru engine. Some are blowing head gaskets.

Good luck.

@g-t
They haven't been doing that for quite a few years now. Mainly an issue when buying a used one from late 1990s to mid-2000s.

Scotty recently did a review on a 07 Forester. Subaru's from the 1990's and early 2000's have head gsaket issues but if you take good care of modern ones, you will be fine. Any Crosstrek is basically a Impreza Wagon that has minimal head gasket issues. Take it to a mechanic and change the oil every 4-5k and you would be fine. The biggest issues are the automatic transmissions but the manuels are bulletproof.

Do you have any experience with them? Which engine is the most reliable for every day driving?

@g-t
No I do not actually. Just know that they are all better made than the older ones. What I do know is the 3.6 V6 have a lot more problems than the 4 cylinders. The most reliable Subaru is a low mileage, manuel transmission, modern 4 cylinder.
