[Solved] In the market for a 2021 Minivan

Hey Scotty, I hope you can help me out. My daughter had an Audi Q7 SUV; finally got rid of it after many days spent at the dealership, but she's in the market for a minivan now, she and her husband have 3 kids and realized it would be more practical than an SUV. I looked into the Toyota Sienna but the 2020 and the 2021 models come with only the 2.5L Hybrid engine, which I'm not too fond of, I would have rather had the 3.5L V6; and also CVT transmission only, what's Toyota thinking of? I looked into the Honda Odyssey minivan and they offer the 3.5L V6 and a 10Speed transmission; not too sure about that transmission though; what are your thoughts and what would you recommend? Thanks for your time, and I appreciate all your videos.

2020+ odysseys are fine. Avoid 2021+ siennas.

Oddysseyes consistently have had serious issues, especially in their transmissions. While I am not an expert in the minivan field, I would not recommend them.

Eons ago 1999-2003. Not anymore.

I think you forgot 2005? 2014? For the most part they have improved and there are some good years but they still have problems with there transmissions in some years you need to do your research to find those years. The thing is, transmissions aren't the main issue. Only a few modern years of the Odyssey have transmission issues, but like Scotty said, they also have engine issues. For example many years has excessive oil consumption. By many model years I mean like as early as 2004 or so to as late as the mid 2010s.

Similar question asked here (see links below):  In short, go with the last generation Sienna.  The current one with hybrid and CVT is too new and better to go with true and tried setup that the  last generation offered.

Go used. You will save money and that way with a 2015 2016 model you could get a lower mileage one with a 3.5 V6 and a 6 speed automatic, the 2017 came with a 8 speed auto.
