Hello Scotty,
My name is Koray, and I’m from Turkey. I currently live in Texas and last year I bought a 2016 Toyota Camry XSE with 90,000 miles on it. It now has 120,000 miles. Recently, I've noticed my front tires wearing out quickly, especially on the inner part. I've been told it might be an alignment issue or possibly the CV joints needing replacement. I'm not sure what to do next. I have an appointment at the Toyota dealer on Tuesday for an alignment. I'll be watching your videos and hoping to find an answer. By the way, I bought the Toyota because of you.
You most likely need an alignment but the dealer is not the best place to go for that kind of work, or for anything except warranty repairs or recalls. They are the most expensive option, do not necessarily have the best mechanics, and there is a good chance they will try to rip you off. A good independent shop is the best option.
If your CV joints needed replacement it would not affect your alignment. The most common symptom in that case would be a clicking sound when making turns. However worn suspension components can affect alignment.
Sounds like either excessive negative camber or excessive toe out.
