I have a 95 Dodge 1500 pickup truck 3.9 V6 to wheel drive standard transmission suddenly it seems that idiot light as well as the coolant temperature gauge and the voltmeter gauge don't work I tested the sending units they are good and it's power in The wire I took the instrument cluster out and I manually put power to the gauges and they work what else can it be and I don't find any blown fuses
If you figure out why the Voltmeter isn’t working you’ll nail down the other problems because those warning lights and gauges share either the Power OR Ground circuits with the Voltmeter.
Let’s look at the voltmeter circuit description and try to figure out what’s going on here.
VOLTMETER
Power for the voltmeter is supplied on circuit F14.
This circuit is spliced and supplies power to all the gauges.
Ground for the voltmeter is supplied on circuit Zll.
So that’s simple enough.
Let’s look at the pinout for the Dash Cluster Connector.
So I highlighted in Red the Power input for circuit F14. It’s Pin 7 on the instrument cluster connector.
I highlighted in Green the Ground input for circuit Z11. It’s Pin 6 on the instrument cluster connector.
If you have Power on Pin 7 and Ground on Pin 6 then the Voltmeter has everything it needs from the wiring connector to make it work.
If you don’t have Power on Pin 7, then figure out where the Power is dropping out.
Power for the F14 circuit comes from the Battery, thru fuse 3 in the Power Distribution Box, thru the Ignition Switch, thru Fuse 12 in the Instrument Compartment Fuse Box, and to Pin 7 on the Instrument Cluster Connector.
So check those fuses and if they’re good, grab a test light. And make sure you have Power on BOTH test tabs of those fuses. (A fuse can’t fry if it doesn’t have power going into it)
If you don’t have Ground on Pin 6 then figure out where the Ground is missing.
Ground to Pin 6 comes from Ground Point G203.
That G203 Ground Point is located on the Instrument Panel Center Support. ( I think it’s behind the radio.

But if I were missing Ground on Pin 6 I’d probably just splice in a Ground to that Ground wire near the connector at Pin 6 of the instrument cluster’s connector instead of pulling the radio out and hunting down Ground Point G203 on the Instrument Panel Center Support
