I have an 02 Outback Limited with 176k miles. Recently the battery and brake lights have taken to dimly flashing for about a second before turning off. Car runs fine. Happens even when not many accessories (or any) or on. Load tested both battery and alternator twice, both are strong.
Any suggestions?
Check your brake fluid level and float level connections.
They checked that and it was fine. Worth noting that in the front I got new pads, rotors, and calipers a week ago. Could there be something in there? I took it back to the shop today that did my brake job and they couldn’t find anything.
Just a thought - sometimes this is because wiring or, especially, the ground to dashboard assemblies is corroded or loose. Check that/use some contact cleaner.
