Is a 2011 Hyundai Sonata reliable car after all the recalls?

Topic starter

My mother is selling her 2011 Hyundai Sonata and it has about 152,000 miles and I was wondering if it would be a good buy for 4,000? All of the recalls have been done but I did hear it was the worst gen for reliability, engine problems and other problems. So I was wondering if I should buy it or just let her trade it in for another car.. Would love your opinion:)

At that age and mileage I would not count on it being reliable at all.

Even after all the recalls being fixed with the engine and all? I was hoping I'd get another 100,000 miles but I guess not lol

Not in your lifetime. Get rid of it.

Sell it.

After 120k miles Hyundai won't give you a new motor for free due to the failed engine design so...yeah

Dang... thanks man. I was just wondering cause it looks like a good car and my mom took very good care of it and I think basically got a new engine a couple years back cause of the recalls so I wanted to help her out and put some money towards her new car but with all these negative comments I might just tell her to trade it in lol

Somebody is willing to pay $4000 for that?!?! It’s not even worth half of that..

Let somebody else find out the hard way, not you.

Thanks! Like I said I thought with the new engine after the old one was recalled, it would be like a brand new car but I guess not lol

You can still help her out by helping her steer away from another Hyundai/Kia/other money pit vehicles..

They must really be unreliable or everybody on here hates Hyundai lol

They have a track record of being clunkers. It’s not just our opinions -
