Hi how are you Scotty I love your videos keep the great work up i Know the bmw are not the best but  I am thinking of buying a 2008 bmw 328i 90,000 miles are those cars reliable

@john6744
If you got the car for a very good price, it was manual, and you don't put a lot of miles on the car, it could be fine.
The biggest problem with BMWs is that all the plastic components in the engine start cracking and breaking off.
Also the components are imported from Germany which makes them expensive and hard to find.
If you want the car that bad you can go for it, but it's still a huge risk.

@john6744
Thats true, from where i from a guy wanted to buy a radiator fan for a bmw, but it was very hard to find

@john6744
they are good cars up to maybe 8 or 9 years ...after that they will certainly become money pits

John, I'm going to be brutally honest. I love BMW's. I have one. It's an older 318iC that I have rebuilt. But after the E36 platform on the 3 series, they are nothing but a heartache. Do a quick search on various sale forums (Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, letgo, etc) and see how cheap they are. The E46 and E90 chassis cars are immensely more complicated and more electronic dependant than the older ones. When things start going bad, the cars get cheap. If you can't do the work yourself, you'll spend more on repairs than you did on the car. Unless it's a giveaway, and a manual to boot I'd pass....unless you're a masochist.

They cost alot as the age .. people know this.   Some engine are better then other .

Depending on which model.

But great driving and performance if working

Coming from UK we have a ton of BMW’s here running well over 100k mileage all the time so on our side they’re reliable especially the diesels.

As for USA I imagine as other users have said parts will be expensive but if you keep the car maintained with good servicing, fully synthetic oil, etc. It should serve well. The 328i is a good car but it all depends how the previous owner was so I would get it checked by a mechanic as those cars tend to get thrashed.

If I were getting a Beemer and not drive it everyday, an M series would be my choice after a meticulous mechanic and a PPI done correctly. Why spend that kind of money and not get something with nice performance. Just my opinion.
