Right now i am looking for used car and i cannot wait for the car prices to go down.

I dont want to spend more than like 7500 on a used car, at the same time i dont want to end up spending money on service and mileage. Also i am looking for a reliable car. After going through scottys video i felt toyota camry 2011, 2012,2013, 2014 should be good for me. But these car are now like atleast 9k with 150k to 160k miles and i am hearing that once the new cars come into production the prices of these will drop 50%. Also looking at these models a year or 2 ago i am seeing that even 2015 with less than 100k clean title came around these price ranges.  This makes me feel that these models will lose value within a year and spending too much would not be worht in terms of resale also. Looking at other options like nissan altima it looks i can get better years with less mileage around 6500.

Need some suggestions with some explantion to help me wiht my decision. Highly appreciate

Nissan does not make a quality product. Toyota and Honda are far better choices despite the price difference. You get what you pay for.

I’ll take most higher mileage Toyota or Honda than most other makes, any day.

I have a Toyota Prius with 300K+ miles since new.

I have a Honda Accord with ~270K+ miles since new.

Both are going strong.

If you need to buy a car, buy a car. If you can wait, wait. If you do buy a car, a Toyota or Honda is usually well worth the premium. Just makes sure it checks out before you sign the dotted lines.

If you have specific models and years you are looking, post them on a new thread in this forum, and we can help identify which ones have a better chance of being better for the long run. Although Toyota and Honda are the brands more recommended, they aren’t perfect, and we can try to help weed those bad ones out.

It depends how long you wanted your vehicle to last. Toyota Camrys and Honda Accords are better than the Nissan Altimas and other vehicles. My dad owns a 2012 Nissan Altima with 99,000 miles and it has no problems so far. But, I heard that the CVTs wear out as early as 100,000 miles.

Other alternatives you may want to consider are Mazdas and Subarus.
