Should I coast in neutral

I have 5 mile stretch of open road on my drive to work. I can cost in neutral the entire way at 55mph'ish, I just got a new 2024 Subaru BRZ ts. I know some cars need to be in gear for the transmission oil to be kicked up and keep the parts oiled and cool.  Is it safe to for the transmission in my BRZ?

Thanks,

Mark H

most importantly, it's an unsafe and poor driving habit. Leave it in gear.

downvote all you want but it's federal law for a reason, so I'm not sure what other response your expected. Don't shoot the messenger.

It's quite unsafe to drive downhill in neutral. I tried it once for giggles when I was younger and I had absolutely no control over the car except braking, and the tendency for the engine to slow you down when you're not pushing on the gas was completely removed from the equation, forcing me to brake harder. Nobody here's going to make you do what you don't want to do. Guaranteed if you try it, you'll feel just as out of control as I did.

not just that, but sometimes you need to accelerate quickly to avoid a hazard.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that part, haha. I was mainly getting at uncontrolled acceleration in general, both in terms of speeding up, and slowing down. I was a little skittish on placing the car back in gear until I was slowed down enough to not cause strain on the tranny.
