Good evening scotty,
I have a 2016 Chevy Malibu LTZ 2.5 L 4- Cylinders with 174,000 miles and I've watched your videos regarding when and what mileage to change the transmission fluid on vehicles to prevent problems such as slippage of the transmission if one changes it way past the normal mileage mark. My question is, what should I do given the miles on my car and I haven't changed the fluid... as boneheaded lack of decision on my part for not doing it sooner I wanted to know the best course of action.
I will say that at least 70% of the miles on the car are from driving to and from I-45 from Dallas to my home and vise versa. That's 2 hours of driving on the highway so very little of my commute involves driving inside the city. I'm not currently encountering any issues regarding that but I do want to preserve my car significantly better.
That many miles I wouldn't. Especially if you have black fluid in there now. If blood red it might be okay to change it. What color is it?
