Hi,
I have a Lancer 2001 with 1.8L auto . Done 235000 kms
As per the engine sound , scotty commented that "Sounds like it has a lot of valve platter could be bad lifters or internal wear on the cam or other parts. It shouldn't clatter that loud"
Should I spent money replacing lifters and other parts in the engine or drive it till it die?
N.B. I have replaced fuel filters, oil, spark plugs, brakes and many other stuff have already been done...
Not smooth when accelerating at start up and in lower gears...
I would not put alot of money into that vehicle.
No. Besides the engine, tranny is on its last legs.
N.B.?
Aside from the zero, every Mitsubishi engine is a fail waiting to die around that time, I'd move on.
Never saw that before, I was beginning to think it was "no bull" but I guess you can almost say they mean the same thing. The latin just sounds better.
How much would it cost to do the repairs?
Lancer’s have a cult following. So it may*** be worth it for the right Lancer. It’s probably the performance version that has the following, or people modifying a Lancer to be a performance version.
Yeah. The Lancer Evo. The Evo definitely has a following and would justify even a full engine rebuild. A regular Lancer, no.
