Scotty addresses some do’s and dont’s in stopping oil burn (my case 2016 Elantra GT) but doesnt seem to address all the ideas around a piston soak to help free up low tension oil control rings. Oil thickeners are a no no in VT engines. An older cideo he says lacquer thinner in the gas. Hyundia dealership offers a $600 soak (no guarantees) Is there really any magical solution?

the lacquer thinner was for the cat, not the engine.
You could soak the cylinders in Marvel Mystery Oil yourself for a lot less than $600.
Yes, don’t buy another Hyundai/Kia product..
You can’t fix bad engineering.
No magic bullets. No guarantees.
Walmart sells Super Tech "Fuel Injector Treatment with Upper Cylinder Lubricant" in a 32ounce bottle. It contains PEA's, and worked great to stop excess smoking in my weed wacker and old lawnmower.
It's about $7 compared to $600.
If you are handy with a wrench, it is not difficult to remove the spark plugs on that car and spray cleaner in yourself.
