I recently acquired a 04 buick rendezvous 3.4l. Is the red paint by the oil drain plug showed in the picture a tamper seal or does it mean something else like its damaged and been sealed tight? Its on the pan but not the drain bolt. Sorry i couldn't figure out how to upload a picture but its on an online image host. Thank you!

It could be that paint just scraped off of something. Is there any evidence of red paint on or around the drain plug itself? There's really no way to tell if there's anything going on there until you attempt to remove the plug. A 22-year-old Buick could potentially have any number of surprises.
