Hi,

I want to buy jumper cables for my 2004 & 2008 toyota corollas to keep in the car for emergencies.  What guage and length should I get?

Might be better to get a portable jump starter. That way you don't need someone else to jump start you and you don't have to worry about things like accidentally putting cables on the wrong way which can fry vehicle electronics. (Modern jump starters have protection for cable reversal.)

No less than 4awg, but 2awg is better for those challenging situations (dark, cold, stuck in the rain) when you need every amp.

The cables need to reach from your battery to a helper's battery in the worst case scenario (side-by-side. batteries on opposite side of vehicles). So probably about 16ft.
