Hi I just bought a used chevy volt 2012 with 180k mileage on it for my mother as I heard they are great on gas but also has the benefit of being a hybrid.
I bargain the price really low that to a point I could sell it for a profit.
I just came across your channel and so I didn't know the history of GM and the discontinuation of the volts
how do you view the chevy volt? particular the first generation models. would you recommend keeping the car or should I try to sell it and get something more reliable like a Honda/Toyota .
The car it self runs fine and was well maintain.
also I find that my heater doesn't blow hot air only warm. anything i could do to fix this or is it just the volt that have bad thermal control with their model
The high-voltage battery should be just about getting ready to crater on that thing. Costs about $9000+ to replace.

An 11 year old hybrid with that much millage?

I heard they are great on gas but also has the benefit of being a hybrid.
The only benefit of a hybrid is good gas millage - and the Volt is only rated at 37MPG!

As overly complex GM junk, Consider junking the thing before the battery goes out.
Talk about burying the lede. Mind blown.
Big mistake especially at 180,000 miles. I would get rid of it.
Everybody in this form is going to tell you to get rid of it and get a Toyota or Honda and for good reason too
