KIA engine replacement

Merry Christmas y'all !

My daily driver is a 2006 Kia Picanto. I've owned the car since January and since that time it has broken down 5 times ( I have invested over a 1000 € in repairs so far.)

My mechanic found out that the car has an engine manufacturing fault, which means my car can go bad anytime.

I've been thinking about getting another car but I just seem to like this one so much...

Yesterday an idea came to my mind... how about replacing the engine with a well-built one from the same car or a newer example?

Can a 1.1 liter G4HG Hyundai Epsilon engine (48 kW)  in a 2006 Kia Picanto be replaced with a newer Picanto engine ('07- '11), or shouldn't I bother?

I want to keep the vehicle as it has low mileage and is in good shape now ( I replaced everything but the faulty motor)

Is the job worth it? Which engines would suit the car? How much would it cost?

Thank you. I appreciate your answers.

Kia/Hyundai makes worse and worse engine as time goes on. Odds are the newer ones is more complex and will fall apart. If you really like Korean cars, just get another one yours is either a lemon or is at the end of its lifetime.

Hy!

I suggest you get rid of this car and get something more reliable. If you ask me, over 1000€ in one year for repairs is too much.

I paid such price 5 years ago for a 2002 Suzuki Swift. In all those years I paid about 500€ for repairs. That is ten times less per year than you paid.

Think again if you want to keep it and drain your wallet.

Merry Christmas and good luck!
