HI Scotty, I have a 2020 forte LX, no add-ons, and 850 km on the odometer. The car started twice in -16 F (I had to come back for ID) and then after 10 mins of buying groceries, it wouldn't start. this situation happened to me twice. Kia's best idea was that it was a weak battery. well if that was true it, it wouldn't have started after me just letting the car sit in the freezing cold for an hour would it? what can I do?

The immediate and obvious first thing is a defective alternator. Have the alternator load-tested, which is the first thing the dealership should have done. New does not mean known good.
From a chemical stand point, letting a battery sit does make the voltage a bit higher - It's a trick I use to avoid jump-starting modern computer controlled cars...
Try replacing the battery, 2 years is more then what most new cheap batteries usually last, at least for me.
Could be an alternator, but I'd start with the battery.
