Hello, I am looking into purchasing a new car and wanted everyone's opinion on the 2021 Kia K5 Gt. I've heard that Kia has increased their quality and would like feedback on this AWD car.

No.

Although, if you wanted a reliably unreliable car, then go right ahead.

Definite pass, the mechanical quality actually dropped as they started getting more complicated. Its the cosmetics Americans care about. Those cars have notoriously unreliable engines and weak transmissions. Stay away!

@inthrustwetrust and @kerem are right. Its Not a good idea. The price of those cars is eye caching but those cars are extremely unreliable. The quality is poor and those cars start having problems after a while.

Kia and Hyundai are the same conglomerate. I own both brands. Kia started expanding a couple of years ago so most dealers are less than 5 years old in my area. Hyundai has been an established brand going on 20 years so the dealers are a little more mature. When I shopped around for a Kia I had to do a lot of on line research because the dealers new nothing about the cars they were selling. Imagine not knowing how many gallons of fuel the tank holds. That was typical of the dealers I visited. Kia's were bargains a couple of years ago but they have raised the prices to the point that they don't have any price advantage any more. Like I said I own both a Kia and a Hyundai. I prefer the Hyundai not because of the car but because of the dealers. At Kia dealers I have been greeted by a bunch of disinterested sales people in hoodies , jeans and sneakers. The pervasive attitude is "I am working here just until I get a real job". As a customer on the other hand I am about to purchase an item costing me up to $50k. I did my research on my own. I had a specific model and was prepared to pay a specific price. I walked in with a check for that amount and it was take it or leave it. They took it and I will probably never see them again. I downloaded the shop manuals and I do my own brakes and oil changes. As far as the cars they are the same as Hyundai brand cars. In fact when I can't find parts at the Kia dealer I can usually get it at the Hyundai dealer provided I know the part number. They have a lot of snap together plastic just like Hyundai. They are OK for the first 5 years they they start having problems. The engines and trainings have held up. In one case I got 12 years out of one that I just traded in. The problems were with all the plastic. The wheel well liners fell apart after 4 years. The latches on the glove box and console storage broke as did the air conditioner output ducts. The driver side door handle broke off in my hands. They were never subjected to abuse they just crumbled. I was able to get used replacements on line but still it's these were on the cars when they were only 4 years old. I just traded in a 2008 Veracruz when the housing that held the air cleaner started cracking. While under warranty you just bring it to the dealer and its soon forgotten. Out of warranty the cars develop a sucking sound. The sound of your money being sucked into a hole in the driveway. That's why the dealer is so important. I like the Kia's styling a little better than Hyundai but I will probably go back to Hyundai based on my experience with the 5  dealerships I encountered during my last purchase. Maybe in another 15 years I will try a Kia again. By then all these whipper snappers out to conquer the world will have matured. They will recognize the importance of knowing how many gallons the gas tank holds.

It’s been covered extensively, but avoid the Hyundai/Kia products if you value your money.  On a regular basis daily we get members come on here with issues on their newer Hyundai/Kia products.  You are better leasing them than buying, if you really like them.
