Hi, my name is Danielle I own a 2004 Chevy Impala LS 3.8 engine, long story short i wrecked my car into a stop sign a while back and it only damaged the front passenger side of my car. It bent the frame in so bad it punctured the wiring harness, took out the passenger head light and the windshield wiper fluid tank, but the radiator and passenger axle and strut and all those suspension parts were thankfully not damaged at all by the wreck. But now my knock sensor bank 2 has gone out and I have the replacement knock sensor but bcuz my frame has been bent in so far it's pushed the transmission or the oil pan directly in the way to where I can't get the knock sensor out. I've removed the knock sensor from the engine but I can't get it through the small space due to parts being pushed in the way. I can send a picture of exactly what the area looks like of the parts in the way. Do you have any suggestions or tips on how I can safely and carefully remove the know sensor without having to drop the transmission, unless it's a necessary have to? I'd appreciate some advice or any help at all with this. Thank you so much.
When I have had stuff like that bent before, if you have a way of attacking a cumberlong to the bent part and the other end to a tree or something of that nature you can usually pull it back. Since you said the suspension wasn’t affected you shouldn’t have to worry about jacking it up. A four post lift would be best way to do it if you can get access to one.
