If knocking sounds come from engine, your rods are bent Or engine worn out.

Have you driven through flood water

Thank you

Steady knock at idle? That is most likely a ROD knock and the engine could then be toast. How many miles???

It could also be pre ignition which can be caused by a more minor issue such as too much carbon buildup in your engine, running too lean, or using fuel that's too low in octane for your car.

Have you tried knocking back?

What’s the model, make, year, mileage, where is the knock coming from?

Can you please make a video & post the link here?

Also, have the car scanned by a mechanic and give us the codes, if he finds any. Does the car accelerate normally? Or does the knock fade away when you step on the gas?
