I have 2019 Toyota Corolla hatchback manual. On occasion my car growls when starting off on 1st gear. When I’m driving at 25mpg I’ll press in clutch and put car in 1st gear and the car starts whining from some where near trans area. My clutch pedal squeaks and clicks every time I press down on it. I have been to dealer multiple times and they say the car is perfectly fine. Tech heard whining of first gear with clutch pedal down but said that’s normal. My car don’t feel normal and Toyota is treating me like I’m crazy. They won’t even document the noise on paper. I purchased the car in July of this year with 21000 miles and I currently have 29000 miles. Am I losing it here or are all those issues actually concerning ? Thanks appreciate your feedback.
25MPH is first gear is really winding out the transmission for that gear. I would think you would hear first gear whine if the shifter is still in 1st at 25MPH and your gliding with the clutch pushed in. 1st gear is only needed to get you rolling say up to 10 mph, then bang second!!
