Hi the auto repair shop I go to has reported for the last 2 years that my 2012 110k miles driven IS250 has all 4 suspensions leaking.
When should the suspension be replaced? The shop owner has told me it is not an urgent job. But I am concerned that if left unreplaced it might cause some other damage. Please help.
Take a look and see if it's true what they told you. Have you noticed any difference in driving behaviour of the car?

has all 4 suspensions leaking.
if the shocks are leaking, then you will see dark, moist patches on them with a flashlight, where the oil leaked out.
The car will also feel "bouncy" and rock too much when you turn.

when they wear out

well worn shocks can't cause too much damage, other than maybe cause more vibration.
But if the shock mounts are worn out as well, then that could cause accelerated tire and bearing wear, vibrations, alignment problems etc. Just grab the strut with both hands and see if there's movement.
But more importantly, worn shocks cause poor handling on the road. At high speeds or in emergency maneuvres, worn shocks can cause you to lose control of the car. I would replace them sooner rather than later.
They're not too expensive. Maybe $70 a piece, and after they're replaced it will feel like a whole new car when you drive. I love the new shock feeling.
