LED headlight question

Hey was wondering if anyone could tell me why my running lights on my 2017 Mazda 6 sport don't turn on while driving after I had them changed to LEDS?The guy told me my low beam bulb was also my high beam in one and that the bulb he put for running light is now my low beam and the other light became high beam since its too bright. I wanted the running light to still be on while the other light next to it function as the low and high beam as before.

Every time I put my car into reverse or drive the running lights always turned on, now only when I flip switch to turn headlights on

Most daytime running lights in cars work on lower voltage, meaning the car drops the voltage to the lights, lowering its output for daytime use.  This is not compatible with LED's or HID's. At best, they will flicker real bad, eventually destroying your new lights.  Cheapest solution is just run with your headlights on if you want that.  Otherwise, you'd have to create a new circuit to channel the needed voltage in.

Am I okay driving without turning my lights on and leave the LEDS off and only use them at night? Thanks for the useful information!

Is there a way to have leds as running light for my car or only regular bulbs and halogens ?

The LEDs either run full intensity (mostly) or not. Not much of an in between there. Like I said, if you want new LED headlamps to still function as DRLights, you would need to construct an auxiliary circuit to gives the lights back the voltage they're missing. If you don't construct the circuit, and you want to keep LEDs, I would also disable the DRLights feature if your car allows you to do that.

Oh okay, thank you again !

On cars that use halogen bulbs, daytime running lights use the high beams at 50% power. This is possible because halogen and incandescent bulbs can be dimmed by lowering the voltage. An LED is either on or off; if the voltage is high enough, the LED turns on, and if the voltage is below a certain threshold, it won't turn on at all. The only way to "dim" an LED bulb is to flash it on and off very quickly (dozens of times per second) using a technique called Pulse Wave Modulation (PWM). Since the flashing is too fast for our eyes to detect, it gives the impression of lower brightness.

Some fancy LED retrofit kits come with a special ballast that translates the lower voltage of daytime running lights mode into PWM. Otherwise, most retrofitted LED headlights are not compatible with daytime running lights and you will just have to drive with your low beams on all the time.

Ah okay, thank you though !

According to Slyvania, 2017 Mazda 6 used H11 for low beam and 9005 for high beam and daytime running ligiht. i am not sure if the sport trim is different. If so, can't you change the headlight assembly? i would imagine it wouldn't be too difficult nor expensive.

Maybe in the future I'll change the assembly
