(Canada) eying on a Lexus ES 350 with 200k KM, Dealership is asking me for a 6k cad all in. seems to be a good price but i cant seems to pull the trigger yet so far. i only put a deposit for now, i currently living another province and i cant see it in person and test drive it yet. but will be booking a ticket withing next few weeks. My biggest concern is the Car fax shows only 'one' Vechicle service history record. is that a red flag? Thank you.
Dealer refuses pre inspection as they say because its “wholesale”
Don't just walk away from that deal - RUN away.

A car sold at a wholesale value is typically a problematic car. The dealer wants to get rid of the car so they can reinvest the money into a better car to sell, it's literally that simple. Wholesale doesn't always mean the car has some kind of mechanical issue. The car could have sat on his lot too long, it could be an unpopular style or even have an unappealing color. Regardless, the fact that this dealer won't allow you to inspect the car pre-purchase, that tells you everything you need to know. No inspection = don't buy.i don't even know what is wholesale. Clearance?
Carfax only knows what is reported to them, there is no way to know what kind of service the vehicle has actually had. Likewise Carfax can't tell you for certain whether it has been in a serious accident, flood, etc.
It is imperative that you arrange for a good mechanic to give the vehicle a thorough inspection before purchase. A test drive is not sufficient.
@chucktobias Dealer refuses pre inspection as they say because its “wholesale” i do t even know what is wholesale. Clearance?
i do t even know what is wholesale.
it means they bought a large quantity of crappy cars for a very low price, and they can't be bothered to spend any time on the cars, or give you any of their time. It means "run away". You won't find anything worth buying for 6,000 CAD at a dealership. Save your money.
