Hi all,
After getting a evap vent code 0446, I took my car to a mechanic who told me the evap cannister needs replacing. He says it isn’t serious but will affect gas mileage. Is this true? Is this a concern, or can I avoid it like I have been? It hasn’t created any noticeable drivability issues. I cleared the code, and it passed smog anyways.

Generally it doesn't do anything in the car runs perfectly fine. So check your gas mileage and if it's the same just leave it. That is a very expensive part and the most there is your car so old. They don't do emissions testing anymore
