Hey Scotty,
Love your videos, and thanks for taking the time to answer my question
A couple of months back, I bought a reman transmission for my lexus es 300 1999, which has 186000 miles. I bought a reman transmission from the lexus dealer itself, and it was actually pretty reasonably priced (surprisingly). I had my guy replace the old transmission, but the owner's manual of the car told me Dex III fluid, which I had my guy put in the transmission. It worked mostly well, but wasn't perfect. Recently, however, I noticed that the transmission itself (a u140e) has a type iv toyota label on the dipstick, so I replaced most of the trans fluid with the type iv, and it seems to be running a lot better with that (fingers crossed). The trans fluid level was good, but I had the dex III fluid in the trans for about 3000 miles.
Do you think it did any permanent damage to my transmission?
Thanks
Nah that shouldn't have harmed anything
