Hi Scotty, I have a 98 model lexus ls 400 , and it overheats when the car is stopped. The radiator is new and also not leaking at all, tell me what to do.

Install new thermostat and check operation of cooling fans.

Overheating issues are tricky because it can be only 1 thing among many...
- Check the radiator fan itself;
- Replace the coolant if its old;
- Check/Replace thermostat and water pump;
- Rare to happen, but maybe some tubes/air filter might be clogged/dirty?
- Or to make it easier, if possible, scan any error codes first and see if they detect something wrong.
Most importantly, take it to a mechanic and make sure it doesn't overheat during the diagnosis! A small mistake can cause permanent damage.
how do dirty air filters cause overheating exactly?
