Im looking at a lexus450 2011 HYBRID
the previous owner didn't drive it much so the battery died
he got a new one but after one week the car stoped working
it lights up but won't start
what could be the issue?
Run away from that vehicle as fast as you can. I see some red flags: Where did the owner get this battery? Is it a "remanufactured" or brand new? Whoever installed it was not done by a professional who knows what he's doing.
he only changed the 12v battery. it worked after it was changed but then it did not
Check and see if the battery was installed incorrectly or there if there is corrosion on the connectors. If it was installed correctly, check the starter. If the starter is not the culprit then you could possibly have some serious computer issues.
Look for possible parasitic drain.
Either that, or he still is it enough.
