Hello Everyone/Scotty,

I have a 2012 Highlander SE with the 4-cyl 2.7L engine (second owner). It has about 166k miles on it. I checked carfax and toyota.com for maintenance info. First owner took it to the dealership like clockwork, every 5000 miles. Which, I believe, means oil changes at 10k miles. It consumes about 1/2 quart per 1000 miles. Is that excessive? How long will it survive? Highlander (or Venza, etc) owners please let me know your longevity stories concerning this engine.

Side note:
In checking the details of the entries at toyota.com, they changed the PCV at about 155k. A couple entries after that, the owner complained about excessive oil consumption. Shot in the dark, but what's the possibility of him getting a bad PCV?

Thanks for any answers,

BAM
