No cause and effect there makes no sense. I mean if you can't let converter at holes in it made noise you wouldn't hear the lifter noise until you quiet the noise down but replacing a catalytic converter isn't going to make the lifters do anything

Scotty,

What could be causing the clicking or clacking or ticking noise when I accelerate?  i don't hear when in park position

Where do you hear the noise come from?

I checked the oil fuel level it is fine, there are no signs of leaking of any fluid.

Scotty, I hear the noise coming from  the belt/pulley area. I see on your video that  show your Toyota Matrix has the same engine as the Corolla

try taking the belt off and see if the noise goes away. More info in the FAQ.

Mountain Man Joe,

The car is an 2007 Toyota Corolla, automatic Trans 238K miles, I ran a scan and there were no codes

Most likely it’s just the variable valve timing lifters clattering. Like Scotty was saying it’s possible the catalytic converter was just louder than the lifters so you didn’t hear it. Toyotas lifters often make noise when they get older so I wouldn’t worry about it. Do you hear it when you rev the engine in park?

Hey Mountain Man Joe,

When I took the car  to AAA car care they did say the belt looked "discolored" . If it is the belt would that reduce the noise?  I dont feel comfortable removing the belt

maybe it is the belt, maybe it isn't. I suggested removing it because there are a lot of things connected to the belt which could make noise. Removing it is a quick way to eliminate some possibilities.
